Since 2019, we’ve been developing, grinding and packing freshly-roasted coffees from over 50 South African roasters into our 100% home-compostable pods and drip bags at our factory in Woodstock, Cape Town. We started 4WKS because we wanted to enjoy great local coffees in a convenient way, while also shifting habits when it comes to caring for the planet. Every element of our product, service and packaging has been designed with the planet in mind.

How our service works

We are obsessed with excellence – from coffee performance to service delivery – and are proud to offer our hands-on expertise and 360º solution, where we pack your coffee into our pods and drip bags. We offer two service options: the 4WKS shelf-ready solution and a white-label solution. The whole development follows a simple four-step process, where we guide you and work closely with you to ensure your coffee performs (and tastes) excellently and consistently. How our service works

Developing your pod

We kick off with a chat.
This is to understand your requirements and needs.

We identify 1-2 coffees to be packed and tested.

You send us 5kgs of each coffee.

4WKS encapsulates and runs trails on the coffee.

We’ll send you 40 pods of each roast to test and taste.
Together, we’ll discuss the results and select the coffee that best performs.

This will be the pod we proceed with.

After we’ve decided and signed off on your pod, we’re ready to run your first order!

Packaging your product

We offer two options to package your product.

Option A: 4WKS shelf-ready solution
We’ve thought of everything so you don’t have to. With sustainability being at 4WKS core, we have spent years developing an innovative, closed-loop packaging solution that not only keeps your pods fresh but also encourages people who buy them to compost them.

Option B: White label solution
If you have your own packaging ready, that’s no problem at all. Simply send them to us and we will pack your pods, per your instructions. Kindly note that this option requires you to cover all aspects of packaging beyond the pod and branded pod lid.
