About Platō Coffee
Often mistaken for “Pluto”, there are a few reasons why brothers and founders Stephan and Petrus Bredell named their coffee venture after the Ancient Greek philosopher, Platō. It worked because, in ancient Greece, people would always meet in the square and philosophise about life and, today, when we want to have some deep and meaningful conversations, it usually happens over a cup of coffee! It was also a fun way to bring some fun and wise quotes into the brand! And last, but importantly, the student of Socrates and Aristotle’s teacher was also the founder of the first modern western university — which ties in really nicely to these guys’ bigger ambition of educating and empowering people through coffee! So now you know!
