About the compost kitchen
We partnered with 4WKS because they are just as passionate and driven about ensuring our food waste, and their pods, are disposed of correctly and composted! Currently, 4WKS coffee pods are the only approved compostable coffee pods for the iCompost in South Africa which we are super excited and proud about.
We believe that technology is the solution and if we can make composting more convenient, at the touch of a button, then more people will be encouraged to start. No odour, no flies, no vermin and no mess!

What food can be processed in the icompost
Any kind of food waste can go in iCompost including, vegetable and fruit offcuts, rotten fruit and vegetables, tea bags, coffee grounds, egg shells, meat, small bones, cooked food and 4WKS coffee pods. However to have the most pleasent experience it is better to only put raw vegan waste.

How much waste can the bucket hold
The iCompost device is small, but has enough capacity for a day's worth of kitchen scraps. Its bowl can hold up to 2L of organic material, which usually weighs 1kg.
May I store the waste in the bucket and only trun it on when it's full
Yes you can store your waste in the iCompost bucket until it is full, and keep the lid closed, and run it when you are ready. We advise not to keep waste in the bucket for more than a week
What happens if power goes off during a cycle
The machine will need to start from the beginning when the power comes back, but the 2nd cycle could be shorter if a lot of drying already occurred in the interrupted cycle.
